The Emerald Society was first established in 1956. The Society was formed by Irish born or Irish descent that were proud of the glorious traditions that were brought from Ireland to the United States of America and to the New York Fire Department.

The FDNY Emerald Society is a Fraternal organization open to FDNY Members of Irish heritage, 2019 dues are $25 for active members. Retirees dues are $15. Dues can be deducted automatically, or mailed to Attn. Walter Dreyer 146 Iris Ave., Floral Park, NY. 11001.
